Trust me, there is definitely NO fat-phobia going on around here!! Fat is wonderful & quality dietary fats are GOOD for you – and NO, they will NOT give you a heart attack contrary to popular belief!
Ok, so what does a day of ketogenic eats look like? Here’s what I ate yesterday…
Breakfast…
I had the most delicious breakfast yesterday… I had two free-range organic eggs (cooked in bacon grease) over raw cabbage/coleslaw mix, avocado, sauerkraut, Applegate bacon, & coffee with some organic heavy cream. Deliciousness.
Lunch…
I had a bit of a later lunch, so I wasn’t feeling hungry at lunch time. I did pack a few snacks to have a snacky sort of lunch during my lecture at school though. I don’t have a pic since I didn’t think they were all that exciting – and I didn’t want to take photos in the middle of class. I had a hard-boiled organic free-range egg, organic colby jack cheese stick, macadamia nuts, & some coffee with a bit of grass-fed butter & MCT oil in it. #fatisfying
Afternoon Snack…
Since I had a snacky type lunch, I didn’t have too much of a need for any snacks when I got home, but for some reason that coconut butter jar was calling my name. I ended up just digging in with my spoon & enjoying the soft, oily, melty parts on the top & edges… anyone know what I’m talking about? So good!!!
Dinner…
Brian & I decided it was a Chipotle kind of night last night. I had a steak salad (they were out of carnitas) with cheese, pico, sour cream, & guacamole. It was delicious!
Post-Dinner Before Bed…
Each night before bed my new routine is to have a hot mug of the YourTea brand Sleep Tea. I love having it while I finish up my studying for the evening & start winding down.
It just smells so good!! It also has a slightly sweet taste that I love.
